"I purchased a set of these folding handle binders Just over a year and 3 months ago. I bought 6 3/8" and 4 of the 1/2".
I am an OTR trucker, I pull a lowboy so I use these constantly in that time they have performed flawlessly with one minor issue, that is the roll pin that affixes the gear to the body of the binder came out on one of the binders, I found the pin in the tool box of my trailer, put it back in and swedged the ends with a punch and have had no further issue.
The only thing I have to do to them regularily is I keep them lubricated with the Liquid Wrench White Lithium Grease in a spray can, if you fail to lube them the detent balls can gum up and the binder will cease to function. Just a quick shot of lube and it will free them right up again.
I love the folding handles, they make my load securement so much cleaner, and at times it helps clear a piece of equipment with the handle where I would not be able to use a regular binder.
Another feature I love is that the hook eyes will not back all the way out of the threads so the binders do not fall apart like regular ratchet binders do frequently.
Who ever designed these binders really did their homework, I use them every day and after using them I will not go back to the old style as these have so many advantages."
