"I bought this reel to hold 100 feet of 10/3 outdoor cable. It is rated to hold 135 feet of 10/3 cable by the manufacturer. The first problem with this reel is that you need three hands to operate it. One to keep the base of the reel from moving. Two to turn the crank. And a third hand to feed the cable onto the reel so that it is perfectly spaced. Should you not space the cord perfectly, even 100 feet of 10/3 won't fit. Since I don't have three hands this reel is not suitable for me. The second problem is that the lever that the handle is connected to is not long enough. As a result there is not enough mechanical advantage to allow the handle to turn easlily. With 10/3 cord the cranking of the handle is a major battle and your arm will likely be sore and tired after reeling in a 100 foot cord. This problem worsened by the small diameter of the reel which forces the cord to make a tight radius bend as it goes around the reel. As far as the claim that this reel can handle 135 feet of 10/3 cord, my experience shows that this is an exaggeration as the 100 foot cord barely fits. Workmanship and connstruction is about average for a light duty homeowner device. This is not a contractor grade reel by any means. It does not offer good value in my opinion."
