When its working good, but pump coupling weak!

"We have had this unit for nearly a year and used it occasionally. With hardly any hours on it, the sleeve connecting the pump to the engine broke free and would not drive the pump anymore. All that holds the sleeve to the pump shaft are two set screws. These were unable to hold. So I had to disassemble the pump from engine. I ground a flat spot on the pump shaft. Had to run to the store and get a new set screw as it fell out on the ground somewhere. So when assembling I then used thread locker. this lasted a few more hours, but then it happened again. This time I ground a U shaped groove for the set screws to dig into. Now the shaft was slightly smaller Dia. as the boys running it let it run when slipping for a bit. So I had to make shim from a soda can and put back together - again. Now its working well again - but not so sure about this cheap engine to pump joint. A quality setup would be one with a belt or a isoloator like what other sell. Direct hookup is just asking for vibration and problems arising from it.
used on 10 acres. Tows well. Trailer metal fairly thin but well painted. Could be heavier duty for sure. The engine works well - its Honda. Hose holder OK but could be better. Valve controls not marked so operation by hired hands requires training and relaying on their memory."

Tow-behind sprayer

"This unit was very easy to set up and use, gave good service all summer and I expect with proper care it will last for many more.
I used it to spray for grasshoppers on 200 fairly rough acres.
Big bumps may momentarly upset the float fuel level and make the eng. go rough for a few seconds, not a real problem. It covers quite a nice area just adjust your speed to get the coverage you want.
Eng. is great, easy starting and goes a long way on a tank of gas.
Frame, axel and wheels are very solid.
Properly clean, winterize and store the unit, you will like it.

Great Sprayer

"This sprayer far exceeded our expectations and we love it. The wand that comes with it is fabulous for reaching the tops of your trees and the broadcaster can get the job done fast. If your sprayer gets plugged up (we use worm tea in ours) it is really easy to clean the filter and get back on the job. Love this sprayer and would recommend it to anyone!"

Better Than Walking

,

"The Northstar 55 gal Tow Behind Sprayer has proven to be a valuable tool in saving time and energy. With safety an ever increasing concern these days, instead of walking our property we tow the sprayer behind our quad which limits spray exposure and because it is compact there are no parts sticking out that might hit something and break. We purchased the remote switch which is also an important safety feature and is a convenient tool. Since we can adjust the tongue to different heights we are able to spray nut trees, along fences, around buildings and the yard and lawn areas. Maintenance has been limited to normal cleaning and the sprayer continues to function efficiently; making the sprayer dependable--it is good to know that it is ready to go when it is time to work!"

"When I Bought The 55 Gal. Tow Sprayer I Was Just Going To Use It For Spraying My Fruit Tree's At My Farm. However After The First Time I Used It I Saw Right Away That I Had Found A Product That Was Worth The Cost As Well As Many Other Uses. I Use My Sprayer For Spraying Trees, As Well As Spraying Liquid Fertilizer On The Yard And For All The Food Plot's That I Put Out To Feed The Deer And Turkey So We Can Watch Them. In All I Guess I Spray About 20 Acres... We Also Use The Sprayer To Kill Unwanted Grass That Grow's Around The Fences, After Spraying We Buy A Chemical To Clean The Sprayer From All The Weed Killer ; We Wash The Sprayer A Few Times With Fresh Water And It's Ready To Go ... I Also Bring The Sprayer Home And Use It Around My House As Well ... I Would Strongly Recommend The Sprayer To Anyone Who Want's To Save Time And Energy Because It's So Easy To Use .... I Am 55 Years Old , I Have Lot's Of Medical Problems ---- So As I Stated As Long As I Can Use My Sprayer Without Anyone's Help It Is Worth Alot To Me ..."
