" I thought my 2HP. motor finally died, but it turned out to be the pressure switch wiring. I ordered this motor as a 3HP. upgrade with hopes it would deliver a bit more CFM all the way to full pressure. It does in fact drive the compressor pump at full speed all the way until it cuts off. This motor is the same RPM as the old but with 1 more HP it gets the job done easier and a bit quicker. I am happy with it. It was a good deal at the price. It appears quality made and heavy.
It runs quiet. Hopefully it will last long enough to pay for itself.

Nice Compressor Motor

" This motor ended up being exacly what my 30 year old compressor needed. I have a compressor that had a 4hp Special motor (the special was that it was the same dimensions as the 3hp motor). This motor had the right everything for my application, and was a lot cheaper than getting a new compressor. I haven't seen any difference in performance between the original 4hp motor and the new 3hp motor. The only drawback was that the only wiring info was the label on the motor, but it was easy enough to decipher and worked the first time. "

No wiring Diagram enclosed

" The data plate says to hook up to terminals 1 and 4, there is no terminal labeled 4. Tech support has no clue.
The manual that came with this is about as useful as a screen door on a submarine. If it works it might be a fine unit but as supplied wont do a thing.
Maybe there is a reason this thing is so inexpensive.
