After easily assembling, I went after my quarter acre with a weed eating vengeance. Unit works well, though I haven't tried the adjustment for the edger. The only problem, is that this thing trows the weed material everywhere. I had to take a shower and change clothes when i was done as I was covered in weed debris. I just view it as a sign that it works, and well.
The only reason I gave this product one star is because there was no choice for zero stars. I could just copy the first reviewer's comments, but I will do my own.. We both have had the same experience. The strings are constantly flying off. We checked with the operator’s manual many times to ensure we were installing them correctly. We even used other strings the same size by other manufacturers. Second, The mower is constantly bogging down because it does not have enough power to cut the grass. Finally the mower just locked up. We could not pull the string to crank the mower. I am a big man with a lot of strength. I could probably pick the whole thing up and throw it ten feet. We paid the extra $79.99 for the extended warranty, but I don't want to drive the entire 50 mile round trip and just keep replacing this mower with another bad one until the warranty runs out. This is very low quality product.
I bought the trimmer to use on weeds in a field and woods. The trimmer string works fine if you're cutting grass and light weeds. But anything heavier and it breaks a lot. I changed the string 8 times in the first 15 - 20 minutes (yes, I checked to be sure it was mounted correctly). Also, if you try to cut a patch of heavy weeds too fast it just kills the motor - it seems underpowered. The head rotates to trim horizontally or edge in a vertical position. But the clamp that is supposed to hold it in a position doesn't do the job very well - it keeps moving. The head is made to swing left or right for offset trimming. The problem is that the guard they put over the drive belt hits the base that the motor mounts on when you try to do that. The only way you can swing the head is to push down on the guard so it slides under the motor plate. Seems like that's an obvious problem they would have corrected. I checked the mounting screws and holes and that's the only way it can mount (it came with the guard on) (you can even see the problem in the photo on the website). Maybe I'm expecting too much, but if all it can do well is trim grass, then I might as well just use a good portable trimmer.
