CIPA Universal Towing Mirror

"I currently have a 2007 Yukon XL and previously towed with a 2000 Suburban. CIPA makes for the 2000 Suburban, a very good custom molded, mirror that clips onto the factory mirror perfectly and it worked very well for 6 years. When I bought the 2007 Yukon, the custom molded mirror was not available (coming out this year). This universal mirror is absolutely not usable. The mounting method is not secure. It vibrates and actually changes position while driving no matter how tight I make the straps. The 3 rubber mounting pads (like suction cups) came with adhesive pads to improve the mounting grip but they fell off before the first use. The quality of the mirror glass itself is poor and is too small which in turn provides a poor image. I tow a 22' enclosed snowmobile trailer and depend heavily on towing mirrors but I found myself relying entirely on the factory, non-towing mirrors since the towing mirrors could not provide the view required. I highly recommend waiting until the custom molded version is available."
