"The Dewalt XRP cordless combo. kit is the best tool kit I own. I bought it a couple of years ago and use it all the time. Even the flashlight comes in handy more than I thought it would. The reciprocating saw is super even on yard work projects.At first I thought the case could be a little more user friendly but it works well.
My wife knows I have alot of tools in the garage and she also knows I have my Dewalt's (cordless and corded) The best bang for the buck! I plan on getting a second set of Dewalt's to keep in my truck full time. A great product at a more than fair price. YOU CAN'T BEAT IT!!!"

dewalt corless combo,

"I like this product for the average homeowner as it will stand up to the workload. If you are not a professional builder this will be a great set to start with. as a cordless combo it tends to have just enough to get the project done .
dislikes As a professional the tools actually have a tendacy to run low on power during the remodel when you are trying to cut drill screw and use these in a older house remodel. The tools are needed to remove old wood ,studs nails to be sawzalled through. The crosscut saw is needing a little more weight as it tends to jump when motor engages and causes it to jump off of your line of cut. The light however is good in most applications. I am not much for the wrap and hold system as it is always a pain to use when you need not the wrap.The drill is good for shooting screws and the average drill items. it tends to let down when you have larger bits and apply amounts of pressure in steel drilling applications. I have a tendacy to forget on some jobs to put batteries on charger. It seems to me it takes a little to long to charge to full capacity. I will say that my kit is a little over worked for its design. But if you rebuild and need a tool for rebuilding you want it to be there and ready for any application everytime its needed.
As a contractor I rate it for contracting. If i were rating it for homeowner use only I would probably rate it a 4 star."

Dewalt 18V kit a must have,

"We have rentals and my son also works Construction. this kit is a must have for all. The only problem we have had is that the 18V driver was dropped over 100 feet. We were going to have it rebuilt/repaired but a man we hired to help us stole it along with spare batteries. We have since replaced the driver because we use it nearly every day. The ION batteries gives these tools extra power and is nice to interchange. Cordless is great for moving about -- from the house, garage, barn and various properties. A fully charged battery can often last all day"

"As a professional user the Dewalt cordless line can be quite the time saver. The batteries will last about two years of regular professional use. The tools themselves will last about a year longer. These tools will not replace their corded cousins, they aren't meant to, but for making a few cuts every day, installing a dozen or more fasteners every day, they work great."

"I've used a number of different cordless tools in the past twenty years, and of the ones I have used, Dewalt is by far tops on my list. Batteries seam to keep a charge longer then others I have also bought, used and still have. There are other good quality products out there. But one in particular, keeps changing its product line and style of batteries. Dewalt is a quality product and I would recomend them and use them anywhere."

"Purchased this kit just last year while doing a complete remodel on my house, I was using my Dewalt 12v drill which back during the 2004 hurricaine season, I dropped it in the pool, dried it out and it still working, anyway back to the 18volt kit, During the time it took I found keeping this kit nearby made many small jobs much faster from cutting 2x4's with the sawsall, to anchoring lags screws into the concrete. Found cutting with the cut off wheel steel studs and old steel straps came right off. Ripped some 3/4" plywood with the handy saw only wish they made these in left hand verson, for those that need to know with us lefties the power saws eject the dust out the left side which gets into our eyes (even with glasses) all the time. The battery charges in about 45 minutes and last quite good. (gets a lttle warm though). The bag is great as if you keep all the tools in the bag when you are not using them you will find them again. Unlike some of my other tools, I sometimes spend more time looking for the tool than the job takes. My neighbor saw this kit and got one for himself for Christmas 08. overall can't beat Dewalt tools, Even the older ones I have are easy to repair."

"I use this on the jobsite and at home. Works great for all those quick jobs that you don't want to haul out the extension cords. Expecially like the sawzall and drill. Light enough that even my wife will use. Would recommend buying an extra battery so that one is always charged and ready to go."

"I got this set about a year ago and have enjoyed the convienence of having most of the power toos at my disposal away from plugs. It is not always convienient or practial to always running extension cord to corded tools. I use these toos now even when power is close by. They have the power and torque to do most jobs. When the battery runs down I just put another one in with no hassel. I always have a battery in the charger and one ready to use as well as the one in the tool I am using. I purchased extra batters so if a co-worker is using one tool and I am using one we never run out of power. What a great set and great tools. I also have the 7.2 volt screw drive that has enough power to drive a lot of screws and the same charger does the job for all my Dewalt cordless tools no matter what voltage they are. I reallly have three chargers and a few other Dewalt cordless tools. They are great and last and work hard for me. Cal"

"The Dewalt portable drill is very handy, powerful. The dual battery is a wonderful idea. The case however, should have a magnetic compartment to hold special metal adapters. I have had trouble with attachments that shift from the original placement. Perhaps, a more powerful battery that would take up more space would give a special compartment for an assortment of different screwdrivers and other nutdrivers. I have to carry screwdrivers, tips, in a separate box and my nutdriver tips in the small compartment of the Dewalt drill box."

"I work for a water and sewer board, we purchased this combo a couple of years ago. The reciprocating saw has seen water, mud and abuse as it is used to cut pvc pipe during water main repair work. The drill is used as a cordless screw driver, a power source for service line taps using a tapping machine. I've even used the circular saw to open crates .LOL The only thing we have not used is the light. These tools have been used and abused but are still going strong I would recommend them to anyone!"
