"I'am 55, I've had alot of power tools over the years, DeWalts have nerer let me down, This model had thousands of hours on it and may need a bit ot service now, but fhen it will live for ever. My Millwaukie hammer drill is done, next will be a Dewalt hammer drill, just cannot decide which one I want..."

"I have two of these, one for home and one at work. Out of the five cordless drills that I have or use this is by far the best. Smooth and powerful, works for almost every situation. I like it much more than the drill of another brand that was about the same price (a little less) but has the lithum battery."

"I have now had my DeWalt drill for about 1 year, and use it all rhe time bought to install a deck. Charges last a lot longer than my old 14 volt. the weight is more but the power is worth it. "I have used Dewalt tools for 15 years, and this drill is the best product for all around use that I have ever seen. I worked for a school system for 15 years and used all dewalt tool and was never unhappy with a tool unless I just completely wore It out. Then it was replaced the next day. with out any questions.I have heard people say they can't afford Dewalt tools, I say you can't aford not to buy them."

"Before I purchased this drill, I talked with a lot of contractors and other professionals, asking which of the many 18v drills they would recommend.
The DeWalt was first by a long shot! Better battery life, better torque, less returns and repairs required. So I bought it!
They were right! I have compared my drill with those of friends - mine has a lot more torque & longer battery life. A contractor recently working at my house could not keep his drill batteries charged (a Japanese drill). HE HAD TO BORROW MINE for the last several days he was here!
I cannot recommend this unit highly enough!!!!"

"I used this product and like the chuck speed a hard twist with a bit in and it would not spin when drilling into hardend material .I would recomend this to all electric powered drill owner the battery life on the dewalt 18 volts last a long time with the power to it ."

"I have had an 18V cordless Dewalt 1/2 in. Drill for approximately 5 years. It has been a great tool and served me well without fail. The only problem is that the batteries failed after about a year, it could be that I used a cheap inverter in my truck to charge them on the job. I would recommend these without hesitation."

"I have used this drill for quite some time now, and I believe it's the most powerful cordless I have ever used. It will drive 3" deck screws out of sight in hard pressure-treated lumber, and will break screw heads off, if you aren't careful. My primary complaint is that the batteries don't last as long as some other cordless batteries. The 18V XRP batteries last only about 18 months with fairly regular use, and should last longer, considering the price.
Although the drill is a bit heavy to carry around all day, it will serve you well when you need that extra driving force.
I strongly recommend this to any handyman who needs a gutsy drill from time to time."

Worth the difference,

"We have a crew of electronic technicians who share one of these and another brand of cordless drill. The battery life on the XRP is well worth the difference in money for us. We've used other Dewalt batteries that just didn't last as long. We don't use it every day, but we put it to the test when we do. Our crew drills a lot of holes in stainless material and the battery life is essential for us. Like the title says, worth the difference."

"I've owned several 18V drills in the past, but none that performed as well. This drill has the power to handle any job you throw at it. The batteries seem to last forever before needing a charge. A little pricy, but worth it. If I add up all the disposible drills I've owned in the past, I could have probably bought two of these drills."
