Solar Charger Controller, July 14, 2009
By wmc42 from WA state

"I purchased this item earlier this year. I had no problem connecting to the solar panel. I checked voltages as per specifications and it did what it said it would do. I have left it connected to the solar for an auxilliary charger for my tent trailer. it has work with the solar panel to keep the battery charged all summer. No complaints.

Solar Charge Controller, March 26, 2009
By solarone from north babylon new york

"Worked well with the 15 watt solar panel I purchased. Took it out of the package and followed the directions and hooked it right up. Excellent because it stops the battery from over charging. Would recomend it to any one who uses a solar panel to charge batteries."

either poor quality or my bad luck, March 22, 2009
By rtinker from Alabama

"I have got 2 of these and can not get either one of them to work right. The first one would not let any volts through to the battery. I took it back and had a hard time getting them to trade it for another one.( I only had it 2 day with store receipt. Had to talk to 3 differant people) Then when I got the second one the green charged light stays on all the time, even when a battery is low. This product has got great reviews in the past so either the quailty has went down or I just have very bad luck!!"

simple unit, November 17, 2008
By JamesO from Southrn California

"I replaced a controller that came as a package with the solar panels. The old controller had a low voltage alarm that could not be turned off. I did not need to be reminded when the sun was not out. The new unit is 1/4 the size and was just plane simple to install. Its also a more efficient unit (less internal loss) more power to the batteries."

Solar charge controller performance., November 17, 2008
By tjehlers from Tieton, WA

"I have used the controller continuously for the last six months without any failures. It appears to run more efficiently closer to the batteries as opposed to closer to the panels. I would recommend however, as an improvement to enchance efficiency, to increase the wire size of the unit to at least 12 gauge. I have used other brand controllers prior to this and have experienced a high failure rate. I am currently running four 15 watt panels thru the controller and could run at least two more with no problem. I am very satisfied thus far with its performance and recommend it over other brands."

works great, but no protection, November 17, 2008
By cmd5 from WA

"I bought one and hooked it up to the wrong polarity (stupid me) and it seemed to have killed the unit. I bought a second one and it works great. I wish these had a type of "idiot proofing" for people like me."

Good product...no frills, August 16, 2008
By justaweekender from Sanford, NC

"I will/have used this for my camper's battery. It is a nice little packaged unit. At first, I hooked up a volt meter to see what it will do and it operated just as described. Will float charge and maintain the batteries. I also plan to use it to maintain the boat and camper betteries when we go camping down at the river...where there is no power available...I expect that it should work fine."

Solar Charger, August 11, 2008
By amarkiii from Bensalem, Pennsylvania

"I originally purchased the charge controller to charge and maintain my boat batteries. When I saw how easily it configured with 2, 15 watt solar panels ( also purchased from Northern Tool) using the easy-to-read instructions, I purchased another system ( 2, 15 watt panels and a charge controller ) for my RV and for my brother's sailboat.
The controller works as described .and is easy to set up.
One glance at the controller and you know the status of your batteries.
It is a great value!
It allows me to have my boat and RV batteries continually charged and maintained.
