"there really is no comparison with this product. double bevel, compound, sliding miter saw. if you have a job to do from crown moulding to heavy deck work, this saw does it without hesitation. this is no place to go cheap. buy dewalt, buy the best."

The precision is just incredibly exact.
My good old wobbly out of whack miter saw, couldn't even begin to cope.
The power, features and all the provisions for safety are a master piece of elegant and artistic engineering, superbly executed.
It makes really complicated cuts so much easier, that it becomes like a play that you are beginning to like. A job so well done, on time and under budget, that it makes you feel good and proud of yourself.

I love my saw!,

"I searched and searched for a compound miter saw for 6 days before the start of a weekend project coming up, I was building a new deck for my wife while she was out of town. This saw made the job so easy and stood up to everything I could throw at it in 3 days of hard labor. It was so easy to set it up and run though 100's of cuts over 3 days.
I've been a fan of Dewalt products since I bought my first drill. I will never own anything else. I'm going too start replacing some things in the workshop soon from items that have been handed down to me from family and friends with all Dewalt products. They really stand up to the punishment.
Next week new crown moulding is going up in the family room and I know its going to be a breeze.

"I am a female that started remodeling my house on my own 7 years ago. I have went though many tools until I came across a couple of Dewalt products such as the Miter Saw and the cordless drill. I have not had any trouble with the tools that I bought two years ago. I love Northern tools, the discounts, and the products they provide. "Now i have used many saws like.....but the problem was is that i was spending $500 for a junk saw that split the ends of wood.....i then saw a buddy of mine using this saw and immediately asked about it.....he told me where he bought it after i tried it and a few days later i was a proud owner of one.....i bought the flip down stand and now i have the best saw i have ever used.....i liked it so much that i bought a second one for work....it cut through anything like warm butter....anyways all i can say about this saw is increddible.....i wrote this review just to tell other people about this saw and tell them that if you want a great saw to buy this one......6/5 star rating........>GREAT PRODUCT"

"purchased this saw about a year ago. i have had no problems with it, however it is a bit heavy compared to some other saws. very accurate and has enough power to cut through thick oak and pressure treated lumber. The dust bag doesn't catch much of the saw dust though."

"I've had this saw for a while and it has never given me any problems. The different angles and degrees it can cut are perfect for any size job. "I tried a lot of saws and kept coming back to this one based on ease of adjustment and solid feel. I push the limits of its function on a daily basis and it has held up. I'm a little disappointed in the finish quality considering the price but that doesn't effect the performance. Accessories (ie, laser guide, stand) are spendy and in some cases specific to the saw so you can't save money and go generic. I did, however, find a no-name portable stand that works just as well for a fraction of the price. The laser guide should be standard for this level of tool.
Overall, this is a good saw and I rely on it for just about every project."

"I bought one of these saws when i took over the finish carpentry in my new home from an overpriced contractor. It allowed me to cut door jambs,casing, wide baseboards, and mouldings. It has plenty of power, is easy to adjust and connects to a vacuum for relatively dust free use. The D handle is also easy to grip."

"Ive had this saw for 2 yrs and its mobile and so versatile. From sawing 2x4s to 4x4s to reversing the blade to cut thin wall aluminum siding. Very accurate cuts for trimming out. I use this saw in all my projects (Decks to inside molding) Its worth the price by far"

"This saw is now my new workhorse. Use it everywhere. I was able to finish my basement, install crown molding, put in a garage workshop and finish as deck with this beauty. The only problem I have is that everyone wants to borrow it!!!
Laser is a great accessory but I highly recommend the saw stand. The saw clip securely into it and creates a perfect height platform with excellent stability. It also comes with an excellent thin-kerf DeWalt blade. Don't hesitate one second. I researched nearly every saw out there for at least a year before settling on this one."

Versatile & Mobile,

"The DeWalt double bevel sliding compound miter saw is one of the most versatile and mobile tool I own. Despite its size and weight, I routinely move it around the house with ease to set up in convenient locations. Creating compound miters for crown moulding was a breeze. The 12" sliding blade also allows reasonable accuracy to cross-cut extra wide boards by cutting half way, flipping the board over, and finishing it off.
The exhaust catch bag does not work well on my saw - which is a minor annoyance at worst."

"It would be nice if they would put a laser guide on this saw as a standard feature. But you can buy it separate. Otherwise, it's a great saw. It's easy to see the blade. It has a good range of miters and the bevel stops are great."

"The DW718 is a great saw! I have used this saw to cut just about everything. I have been using it for the last two years. I can't say that I am gentle with it, but it has been used in the rain and used in the salt air of Maine. The mitre lock has never failed. The positive stops are always accurate. If you are in the market for a saw I would definitely recommend this saw"

Versatile Saw,

"I first got to use this saw that a friend of mine had when I helped him put vinyl siding on a storage shed. I was so impressed with how it would slide and cut all the way across, I went out and bought one. Among many other uses, I have used it to replace all of the hand rails on a porch with stairs with many angle and turns, made combo cuts for very fancy deck, and the latest use was combination angle cuts on a 7 foot tall Lighthouse for a friend. This has been one of my best investments in a power tool and after I got the DeWalt stand for it, I rarely use any other saw!!!"

"I bought this same saw when I built my first house. I have been very pleased with the features and dependability of a saw I have had for over ten years.
