Solar Battery Maintainer, August 12, 2008
By TomT from Minneapolis, MN

"I found the Solar Battery Maintainer easy to install and was pleased with the array of connectors provided making it useable for any possible application. I plan to use a "Maintainer" on any application (e.g. car, boat, snowmobile, ATV or lawn mower) that is routinely stored."

Great Battery Maintainer, October 19, 2009
By HappyTexasCamper from Godley, Texas

"I have not yet tried the solar powered battery maintainer that I recently purchased; but the one I bought a few years ago is still working and has been in constant use to keep my motorhome ready to go whenever I am! I like it so well that I bought a second one for my boat battery. I may use it for my pickup and get a third one, later, for the boat."

Maintains well, doesn't recharge, October 19, 2009
By NYBoater from Ithaca, NY

"I bought this 1.8 watt maintainer for the starting battery on my boat. The installation was simple and the panel works as advertised. I used a bead of caulk around the perimeter of the glass to waterproof it, and have used it all season without any trouble at all. Excellent value for the small cost. However, this is a maintainer, not a charger. You need a panel that generates more watts if you want to charge your battery."

Handy battery maintainer!, July 20, 2009
By Mtrucks from New Jersey

"This battery maintainer is great. I own 2 vehicles. During the winter i drive my truck. I simply plug the solar battery maintainer in my car and leave it on the dash all winter. When spring rolls around i start it up and it starts like i have been driving it the entire time."

Use the Sun to Keep Your Batteries Charged, July 20, 2009
By OFC302 from New Hampshire

"My pop-up camper battery always went flat during extended camping. That meant no lights inside and no heat when it got real chilly. I purchased this solar powered maintainer about three years ago and it works GREAT! I hang it behind the plastic window and run the wires to the battery. Even works on gray days. No more problems. In the winter I use it to keep either my boat, car or camper battery alive. Just ordered another one so I can stop using electric trickle chargers altogether! A great product!"

I wish it was the same polarity as Battery Tender, July 20, 2009
By AncientGeek from Richmond, VT

"I purchased two of these to keep my two smart car batteries topped off during the winter. Unfortunately the power receptical (cigarette lighter socket) on the smart car is not powered when the ignition is off so I had to go directly to the battery. This charger includes battery clips, but not a permanent pig-tail like the one that comes with the Battery Tender product. The location of the battery in the smart car is under the floor on the passenger side, so I wanted a permanent wiring solution. When I installed the pig-tail from the Battery Tender, I found that the connectors on the Battery Maintainer and Battery Tender are identical, but they appear to be reversed in terms of polarity. I ended up using the Battery Tender last winter, but I might reverse the polarity this summer and use the Solar-Powered maintainer this winter. It does appear to power up on a sunny day even when pointed out through a north facing window. (snow covered ground helps!)"

THESE REVIEWS!, July 20, 2009
By johnsvitalsigns from greensboro, NC

"the reveiws that i had read led me to purchase 2 of these units. i have a garden tractor ( old MTD ), with a garden cart attached, that gets spontanous usage, and is sometimes not started for a couple of weeks. it never failed that as soon as i needed it...click; click; click...dead battery. then i would have to rummage for my small trickle charger....and wait half the day for it to charge. i got the unit / siliconed around the face / case as instructed ( no big deal ). hooked it up to the battery. i actually attached the leads directly to the battery...because there is an inline disconnect to the panel. ! i can unplug the unit and set it a side. the tractor starts EVERYTIME now. great unit. the 2nd unit i put on my bucket truck ( 20 year sign man. ! ) to the battery that starts the 6500 onan generator. same performance. highly recommended!"

Great for all applications!, July 15, 2009
By Aggie19 from Kansas

"We have used these maintainers to charge batteries on the farm, boat, and race cars. It saves time to just plug it in and walk away without worrying about anything. Even on cloudy days this product keeps on charging. If I could get my house to run on one I'd be set!"

excellent device, July 13, 2009
By Roy1948 from New Rochelle, New York

"This was my first solar powered device and it works really well. I attached it to the battery in my sailboat while it was on land in the marina. Had just put two new batteries in the boat in the fall and didn't want the batteries to lose power during the winter. I hung the panel in the inside of the boat in front of a window and it worked really well. I wish it was for use outside, but it is an indoor device only."

Great, July 13, 2009
By Samme from Portland Maine

"This charger is great for keeping the battery up, as I don't alway run my truck every day. Has a nice long cord to plug into the lighter, if yours works with the key off, so it doesn't have to be connect under the hood. Also seems to work will without full sunlight. I may buy another one if it goes on sale again to put in my RV."

Works Great!, July 3, 2009
By VaWolf from Lovettsville, VA.

"I have purchased several solar chargers and this unit does what they say it will do! I use it to maintain my nephews car battery. He is away, and asked if he could park his vehicle on my property during his extended absence. This unit maintains his battery and keeps me from having to jump his vehicle when he comes in for the weekend. He jumps in and goes. WIthout this unit, the battery was weak, but now it's ready to go."

"works great keeping my sailboat batteries charged. though advertised as indoor only, i put a bead of silicone sealant around edge of frame and glass and the first one survived more than 18 months on cabintop of sailboat (accidently stepped on it), second one still going after more than 2 years."

Good for the price, March 17, 2009
By denkopf from CT

"Works well, the little blue indicator light burnt out after the first two weeks. This light is a great indicator that it is working at a glance, but now it is gone. They state this is a problem.... well fix the problem. I have only had this unit for two months. It is indoors up against the garage window because it is not water proof. Will it last a few years? Heck I hope so."
