"The wife and I needed to find a new tractor after our JD STX38 quit. Looking around, I saw this beauty at a home improvement store. Used it for a season and a half. While servicing the blades, I decided to grease all of the points needed. Guess what? I found that it came from the factory with one shot of grease in each of the areas. No wonder it felt tight in the steering. So this sweetheart got greased. This year though, she was put through her paces as a "GARDEN TRACTOR", as we had to have a new septic system installed. Using a disc harrow and a 12 tine pull behind garden rake to level the dirt, she started to whine. Shutting her down and letting her cool helped. A week later when I went to get her out of the garage, there was a puddle of oil on the floor. Starting her up, she started to smoke from under the front of the engine. She's going for repairs on the 3rd of October. She falls under the factory warranty and the 4 year extended I purchased. She should be back in a week. I'll update this when she gets back."
