Gate Opening Sensor

" This product works by opening the gate upon sensing a moving metallic object within 12 feet. This feature will allow delivery people like FedEx, UPs etc. to leave the property without having to get out of their viehicle, walk around the gate and manually enter a code in the keypad. The Manuafactures' product literature states that the sensor will give the owner years of dependable service leading to a false sense of security in regard to the 1 year actual warranty. This unit failed after 14 months of light use. The Manufacturer cannot repair the unit in that it is completely sealed and will not honor the warranty one day beyond the original 12 months. I plan to rig up one of the remote openers to a oversize pushbutton to allow for easy exit - entire rig should cost about $30 compared to $200 for a sensor. "
