Great when you don't need a dump,
July 21, 2009

"This is a well designed tool that allows me to quickly unload a small load when a dump truck is not practical. I mainly use it for grass clippings when I mow commerically which it unloads with a breeze. It's nice and stable when driving and easy to remove."

load handler is the bomb,
May 18, 2009
By fedred

"Purchased the load handler 3k with some doubts. if it worked great, but if it didn't, not only disappointed, but more work to do and less cash. installed per instructions and placed optional mat down. Went and picked up a load of crush and run. Guy loading truck questioned if you would be able to crank off the load. Well needless to say I did with ease and so did the wife. Went back for another load, had both picked up and spread in less than an hour and a half. Great product!!"

Might be OK for unloading feathers,
April 9, 2009
By Dennis47201

"I've been trying to use this unloader with dry compost-- not too wet and pretty fluffy. Even with a slippery undermat, this thing cannot pull hard enough. You need to half-unload the truck by hand before you can use this unloader. So far, I've bent the left tailgate bracket and torn the tape that attaches the mat to the axle. The left tailgate clip always falls off when you drop the tailgate and it's impossible to reattach with the tailgate down. Please buy my unloader for $1."

Worth It!,
November 17, 2008

"As a landscaper who unloads the bed of my truck 2-3 times per day, this has been a lifesaver. I can unload 2-3 yards of bark mulch, leaves, grass, loam, logs, or stone with no trouble in about 30 seconds to1 minute. It works every time without failing. I can unload anything that I can put in my truck with this tool. Only a couple of issues with it though: One of the retaining straps got pulled into the roller, and it broke(my fault, but it should be designed differently to avoid this issue), so it's only being held on by one strap; leaves some of the load in front of the wheel wells if you're not careful. I would buy this again without even thinking about it."

"I have the 2000# model and aside from the roll up material wearing out and tearing form using it all the time it works great. I have used it to unload 3,300 pounds of gravel in one load. It does leave a little clean up in the wheel wells but it is a ton better then shoveling the whole load. Will have to order another one after this one wears out after a season landscaping."

Pretty good for a simple device,
August 18, 2008
By Sheeprancher

"I carry about 3000# of shelled corn or dry beans. This loads the bed of the truck almost to the top of the side walls. When I unload a lot of the material is left on the truck bed in front of and to the rear of the wheel wells. So there is a lot of clean up after the unloading process. The actural unloading is quick and without problems.
Also, I unload into a bin with low side walls. This doesn't allow me to use the suppled unloading bar so I made an adapter that allows me to use my 3/4" socket ratchet using short back and forth strokes so that I don't have to make a full cicle with the supplied unloading bar. Other than the material left behind and the fact that my situation doesn't allow me to use the supplied unloading bar, the unit makes unloading fairly quickly."

Not more back breaking for me,
August 15, 2008
By paya10shn

"I have the crazy love of gardening, and never seem to have enough soil in my own yard to plant veggie's and flowers in. Besides myself and dear hubby aren't spring chickens anymore. And the thought of unloading soil by hand is just too much work anymore. And can't do the soil in the bags, I would go broke for the amount that I want. So as I was browsing thru online searching for products for my greenhouse I came across this. Just had to give it a try hoping that this would be the ultimate item to help unload bulk soil... Have to let you know this IS the best ever, we installed it, which was a breeze. Went to get soil, got a dump bucket full, got home and just started unrolling it right into the wheelbarrel.. Then right where I needed it. What more can I say... I just love it.... oh just a quick note, make sure you get the double bed mat too, It really helps it slide smoothly.
Happy Gardening!!"

"Just had to bolt a few things together and it was ready out of the box. Used it once with about 1/2 load of gravel. It worked fine. Can be taken off and on easily. Next time I'm going to put down some plastic first to see if it slides easier, and less wear on their woven sheet..."

Load Handler 3000,
August 13, 2008
By Orangetruck1978
from Union Grove, WI
"I purchased the Load Handler 3000 to use with my old F250. I oftentimes need to move dirt, stones, gravel, and most recently woodchips. My wife and I moved 12 yards a woodchips and mulched several large areas in a matter of hours. This device really saved a lot of labor. It is easy to install, operate, and remove when not in use. I would highly recommend it to anyone.
There were some minor issues:
1. If you use it on a ot day the tape that holds the fabric to the rod can get soft and tend to slip off the rod. I made the mistake of pulling too much fabric off the roll and not leaving several wraps on the rod. Easy fix with some duct tape.
2. If your load settles out into the wheel well areas of the box then there is some clean-up to do before your next load. The Load Handler takes out 95% plus of the load but there is that little bit you have to shovel/sweep out. Some well places side skirts may do the trick to help this.
3. The attachment straps for the tailgate can get in the way of cleaning out the tailgate. Big loads tend to collect on the ends of the tailgate outside of the fabric path. You need a little extra time to clean these areas before the next load.
Other than those few minor issues, I think it is a great time saver. The slippery bed mat may help with really heavy loads. I have a softer style spray-in urethane bed liner and it worked just fine."

Cargo Unloader,
August 11, 2008
By ldbridges1950

"This is the first item that I have ever bought that actually performs as good as or better than advertised. Even my 120 pound wife has no problems at all operating the unloader and actually likes using it. I am very critical of items that I buy that don't live up to the advertisement. I have used the unloader to unload 1 and 2 inch rock and flag stone with no problem at all. It sure beats climbing in the bed and trying to shovel out gravel or try to slide flag stone across the bed of a pickup. I have use the unloader to unload bags of concrete and mortor mix directly from the bed of the truck and drop in right into a waiting wheel barrel. Does not get any easier unless you get someone else to do it. I have modified my unloader by adding a small board to the leading edge of the fabric, this makes it easier to deploy, something the factory should consider doing on future models."

Great Product....a real back-saver !,
August 11, 2008

"I run my own landscaping business and found this to be one of my best investments. Offloading leaves, brush, grass clippings is now a breeze.
Installation was easy, but on newer model pickups it'll be necessary to pull off the OEM tailgate protector (almost all manufacturers add a plastic one) first, and it will produce some scratching on the gate. A possible preventative to eliminate scratching would be some of the clear poly rock guard sheets (adhesive) available for sale at Auto stores, etc. intended to go on the front of RV's, hoods, etc.
I bought the 3000 based on prior reviews and have no regrets."

"Wow, it works. Heavy loads can be hard to crank. It feels like something could break, but nothing has after 5 loads so far. Works much better if the truck is inclined to let gravity assist in the process."

works just like the commercial,

"I use for hauling dirt and yard debris. It works just as expected. There are a few plastic parts (besides just the handle) but they are not high stress pieces so it's fine. I have a spray in bed liner and it still glides just fine out of my short box. 1500 lbs of material is about the max I've used it with. No issues. I roll my toneau cover over the material after it's loaded in the truck and I can haul leaves or sand on the highway without half of it blowing out. Works awesome."

"I'm in the lawn mowing business. I use the "Load Handler "in the back of my truck to unload the grass. I've had wet grass piled to the top of my cab, and I cranked the load out. It's fun to be at the dump site with other contractors. They stop and watch as I unload and drive off in about 2 minutes while they dig their grass out with pitch-forks. In my business time is truly money. If I can save 5 minutes a day in dump time, that's 1 more lawn I can put on per week. That mean I pay for the "Load Handler" many times over in the corse of the summer. The only thing that would make this better is to have an electric motor do the cranking (Hint,Hint,Hint)."

the load handler,
January 14, 2008
By dadof3plus1

"WOW!!!!!! This thing is great. For me the pros outweight the cons tenfold. It is incredible how quick and easy it is to unload my pick-up. I would definately suggest purchasing the bedliner with it. The bedliner makes the unloading process practically effortless. I was moving rocks in my yard , I loaded the bed up with rock and when it came time to take them off, I didn't even break a sweat. Thirty seconds to unload an 8' bed is possible if you stop midway to take a drink. Ok now the cons. If you use this for dirt or mulch it can be very difficult to operate if the materials get behind the wheel wells. Its called load lock, you will have to remove the stuff behind the wheel wells then crank off the rest. But everything is explained in the directions. I ended up using some plywood as side walls along the wheel wells which worked well. The bed mat really helps the handler glide. My only pet peeve is the bed mat comes rolled up and it takes some time for it to finally lay flat. Also if you get the mat make sure to put the smooth side up when using the handler. A bucket loader dumped 2 yds of mulch in my bed and I had it unloaded at my house just as quickly as he put it in. Don't think twice about this it is all it's made out to be."

"The Load Handler helped immensely for landscaping work, It cut hours off of unloading the dirt and rock for the job sites and unloading construction debris. It has unloaded everything I have put on it it can handle a full yard of rock, sand, etc. I strongly recommend buying the commercial grade because it can handle more weight. This product has been a huge time-saver on the job site. I love it. I will have one on all my trucks!"

Load Handler,

By RenoUofM

"I own a lawn & landscape business with my son and we purchased 2 of the commercial grade load handlers for our pick-ups. We bag most of our grass clippings so we have to unload the truck beds almost every day. The load handlers have made this job a breeze !!!! We've also picked up 1 1/2 yards of top soil and had no problem unloading. I would definately recommend this product to anyone looking to help make your pick-up trucks more useful and MUCH easier to unload.
