Surprisingly Effective

April 30, 2015
from Wichita, KS
I am impressed by this little workhorse.
First, my package arrived damaged and missing a piece. I contacted Brinly, and they shipped me a new piece right away, without quibbling or arguing. Customer service like it should be.
When I did get the thing assembled, I hooked it up and put it to work. I am using a 1990s White Outdoor garden tractor with a Category 0 3 point and a sleeve hitch adapter. This unit has 16 HP and is shaft driven. Your limiting factor is not likely to be engine power, but traction. I have a fairly heavy clay soil. The White is big & heavy (even more so with me in the seat), and with tire chains (bar tread tires would work, too) I only had a couple of instances where buried roots had the tires spinning.
I have now used it for the garden, and broken tough sod for my sweet corn plot, and it has won me over. One other note that is probably obvious to everyone else: remove the mower deck; it just gets in the way.
