I'm a big fan of DeWalt and own 15+ DeWalt power tools. This one is kinda flimsy and not as well built as my others. I grab the corded version whenever possible; in contrast I prefer to use my 36v other DeWalt tools.
My Wife bought me this saw for my birthday about six months ago. I wasn't sure about it at first, as most battery powered tools seemed to be short on power. After I had it for a month, I realized how useful it was. Let me explain how powerful this saw is. I operate a professional house leveling and lifting business. Our main work is not carpentry, but we do a fair amount of wood cutting, Throughout the day, we always have a lot of 5 minute cutting intervals. So this saw is perfect. First of all, it uses a full sized 7 1/4 blade. Second of all, it has a quick hand spin screw to chang the blade. No looking for wrenches when you need to change a blade. Third benefit, is the life of the battery. I can cross cut a 2x6 about 50 times before the battery gets tired. On top of that, it recharges fully in about 40 minutes max. The battery removes quick, so between cuts, I will put it in the charger, and never kill the battery all day. The saw is light. It feels like the same weight as a plug in the wall saw. The depth of cut is the same as a full sized circular saw. The best part, is the power. This saws turns 4000 rpm. A plug in the wall saw spins 5000 rpms. At 4000 rpms, it feels like it has 90 percent of the cutting power of 110 volt saw. There is one peculiarity I have found, The motor is on the right side, so you will observe the blade on the left side of the saw as you cut, and you should have eye protection, as it throws dust up. One other thing that bugs me, is the case, this case will not close unless you have all the pieces in perfect. This is a fine tool, A very fine tool. A time saver for sure. On my crew, we have a different name for this saw. We call it the "quick saw" in order to distinguish it from the 110 volt circular saw. because it's very quick to grab the saw and make a quick cut , without dragging the cord all the way to the other end of the project.
Best saw for the proffesional handyman, Great amount of power, this saw will outperform most electrical saws in the market!, All metal gears will ensure long life and new nano technology battery will deliver better performance than ever. But best of all, this saw utilize regular 7 1/4" blades, eliminating the need for specials, irregular and costly blades. All of this power, extended mobility and Great tecnology backed by america's most trusted brand. De Walt.
