Handy compact cordless drill at a great price,

"I bought this cordless drill to replace an old Makita that I had had for years. The first thing that I noticed using the Dewalt was how much lighter and compact it was compared to my Makita. The drill felt comfortable in my hand. I used the drill on a deck I was building and was pleasantly surprised at how long the battery held up after driving long decking screws. I've had it for about 6 months now, and have no complaints, Highly recommended!"

Awesome tool for light work,

"I bought this Cordless drill for my wife so she would stop using my Porter Cable cordless drill. Once she started to use it, I ended up liking it better than the Porter Cable and have had to buy a second Cordlees Dewalt drill. Lots of torque, easy to use, and relatively fast charging all make this tool a pleasure to own and operate. Not ready to take on a corded, 3/4" model that I have for really large jobs, but a real performer in the normal everyday use category. Do yourself a favor, and get one for around the home."

"I have several 12 volt drills by Dewalt. They are very handy in the fact they are well balanced and do not weigh much for long term use. The reverse lever is easy accessible and is a nice one handed operation drill. I could use more power so I will be buying the 18 volt drill. I also like the bright yellow color scheme as it allows me to find it in the mass of tools I normally carry when working. If I had to make a change it would only be in the price but then again you are buying quality and will not need to buy twice. Also to note I have never had one fail even after multiple drops and prolonged use."

Strength and Reliability,

"I have found the DeWalt 12V cordless to be extremely reliable and easy to handle.
I have been using one for 4 years now and have had no problems with this tool.
It drives at a high speed and will handle just about anything I throw at it, I have even driven 4 inch x 1/4 in. lag's with it, granted I did drill a pilot hole first.
Most of what I drive are deck screws and it handles #8x3" with no problem, no matter what material I am driving into.
I have also found that the 12V-XR battery is a bonus as it last's about twice as long as the standard battery.
I own four 18V cordless drills and find that this 12V will keep up with most of them as far as driving power goes.
I have used it to drill for cement anchors, throught bolts, lag bolts and even a 3'4" electrician long flex bit.
Over all I find this tool to be far superior to all of the other 12V drills I have owned."

"While I find the entire DeWalt line to be well designed and built, I really like the 12 Volt system because you can always run it off of a car battery if you get stuck without a charged battery and have to finish now."

"Great drill for the home handyman. I use it for all of my home projects. It handles everything that I throw at it. I have used it to build decks, hang doors and curtains and blinds, clean parts, and fix just about everything that you can imagine around a house. Once one battery is depleted, I plug in the spare and keep going. Would recommend to anyone that has a home project to do."

"I purchased the DeWalt Cordless Drill about ten years ago. I was reflooring a moble home at the beach; it was a 70 by 12, we installen new sub-floor with a 10 pound box of wood screws. This tool has been used for everything from stirring paint, auto repair, small and large home projects. Because of problems with my hands and arms from birth; this drill has allowed me to do things that otherwise I could not. It is slow when you need slow, fast when you need fast, and always strong; and certainly the most dependable tool I have ever purchased. Saint Joseph, would have approved this cordless drill."

"I just love this drill. I also have a 14.4v and 18v B&D cordless drill motors (1 was a gift and I won one in a raffle) and my 12v DeWalt is my "go to" drill motor. The battery has good life, and it has plenty of torque for all the projects I use it for around the house, whether driving drill bits, screw drivers or nut drivers. I cannot think of a single criticism or any problem I have ever had with this device."

"It was used at work and home projects. For sign installation and repair service, it was a work horse. It was fairly maneuverable with lighter weight but strong enough to power through long screws and drilling metal boards. The power was very impressive even with the 12V battery. It was sometimes hard to shift between 1, 2, and 3 speed gears. I would have to tap the trigger couple times to get it unlocked. I had it for 3 years and now the battery is not keeping the charge, but I think it is primarily because I left it in my car trunk for a week in hot summer. Now it won't keep a charge.
Replacement batteries are ridiculously expensive, and really they just want you to buy a new tool."

"This is my favprite de walt tool. I have a whoe kit of 18 volt de walt tools and use this one the most. I like the weight, balance and power. I am a do-it-yourself type and don't keep the battry charged regularly and therefore may be reducing the life of the batteries. I hightly recommend this tool."
