"I have tried all the recipricating saws out there, in our line of work they only last anywhere from 1 to 6 months. the millwakee outlasts them all, about a year. The 15 amp is the toughest of all. If you plan to use your saw hard buy this one."

"From the feel of this saw, i'm fairly confident this will be the only sawzall i will ever have to buy. Its extremely heavy duty and will cut through anything with the correct sharp blade. I do not notice a difference between the standard reciprocating and orbital settings however."

A great saw

"One of the best things about this saw is the ability to go through plywood from a center area without having to drill a hole for the blade first. I have had other orbital blade motion saws, but they still couldn't really puncture their own hole. With this saw, if you lay it as close to flat as you can and start slow as you angle up, it will cut a nice groove and then plunge through. I regularly need to cut access holes, and this saw gets it done fast.
Blade changes are fast and easy. Saw works good with blade reversed when space doesn't allow correct blade usage. This saw has very good positive bite, so the saw tends to pull itself against what you are cutting. This means less jump back and less bent blades.
I've used a lot of sawzalls over the years, and this one is the best I've ever had."

Cuts evertyhing

"I bought this Sawzall while building a brick wall around a tree. Roots became a problem really quick and I'm not into digging them out. I got the pruning blades and cut through some 6" diameter roots still in the dirt. That helped get that job done a lot faster. Then I used it to trim the tree. Like cutting butter. Then the next project I took it in the house and started taking up subfloor in a upstairs bedroom. Again butter was probably harder to cut through. The variable speed and straight or orbital cutting really comes in handy. This Sawzall is a lot lighter than the Rockwell I purchased in the 70's. Milwakee made another great tool for my tool collection."

"I work in apartment maintenance. I use my Sawzall on a regular basis. One of the more useful applications is replacing broken door frames. The Sawzall has the power to cut through the nails, screws, shims, etc. I have also used it with plumbing, cutting pipe etc. This is a great tool and I would recommend it to anyone."

"It cuts through everything from tree roots to PVC to conduit. All you need to do is a quick switch of the blade and you can tackle anything. Easy to use and versatile. Anyone can master it. Never know when you might need to get cut through something. All in all, great tool and I'd highly recommend it."

"I have used several sawzalls and the Milwaukee super sawzall by far out performs and out lasted any other brand I have owned. These Saws are so tough if you were trying to destroy it, you would have a very hard time doing that."

"I own one of these Model# 6538-21 Sawzalls, and I think it is an excellent tool.
This saw has more than enough power to cut through anything I have ever used it on. Whether cuting soft materials like wood, or PVC pipe. Or harder materials like iron pipe, or steel bar stock, this saw has plenty of power to do the job. One of the jobs I use my saw for is prunning tree limbs and even cutting down trees! I have used my saw to cut down an 8" diameter tree before because I did not have a chain saw available. The saw cut the tree down with no trouble. This is an excellent tool to take camping if you need fire wood!
Two features I especially like about this saw are the orbital switch, and the variable speed controls. Setting the tool in orbital mode speeds up cutting through wood. The variable speed switch is nice because somtimes I use my saw on an AC inverter, and I need to turn the speed down a notch to avoid overloading the inverter.
One of the things Milwaukee should do to improve this tool is to build a saw that can rotate 360 degrees. Milwaukee has a saw that can already do this, but it is only 13 amps. But that would be nice if this 15 amp saw had that feature.
Overall this is a very great tool. And it has plenty of power for whatever job it needs to do."

"More often than not, this is the first tool I will reach for when working on almost any project.
When plumbing you can't beat it for notching a stud, removing old steel waste pipes, or cutting new. When doing demolition...need I say more. When gardening... The uses are endless.
I also own a Milwaukee battery powered version which is great when crawling a house, but there is nothing quite like the corded SuperSawzall. I have so much more confidence that the power will always be there and will always get the job done.
I also highly recommend "the torch" series of sawzall blades. They are the best I have used."

"If you have any trees or bushes around your house, you will want this tool. It is the best tree trimmer you can buy.
There are blads made especially for tree trimming and bush trimming.
It is faster than a chain saw, cheaper to operate, easier to handle, and with it's tool box easier to store than any other tree trimmer you can buy.
I have had this tool for over 20 years and it is good as the day I bought it.
Believe me it has done all different kinds of work. From wreaking on remodeling projects to installing kitchen cabinets.

"It's not small. It's darn heavy. You need a #10 extension cord for over 50 feet. Now, this saw will cut 3-4 times faster than "equal" recip saws from other brands. Side by side with a "yellow" recip and "blue-green" recip using Skil "Ugly" 9" 5 TPI blades, two years ago after our famous ice storm, cutting ice coated broken limbs. The Milwaukee could NEARLY keep-up with small chain saws and was much safer to use than a chain-saw under the conditions.
Now let's talk about cutting TREX for a deck. Got the RIGHT carbide toothed blade for the job. Saw cut faster than I could keep up with. Any recip saw you buy is worthless without the $60-100+ correct for the job blades you'll need. Had a guy bet I couldn't cut thru the frame of his old pick-up. He was WRONG 1 1/2 minutes later. This is my third Milwaukee Sawzall...other people wanted my others bad enough to break down garage doors and shove windows out of their frames.... The new 15 AMP has the most convenint speed control, the least vibration and the most POWER of any recip for any price. Last break-in, they got my sabre-saw and I needed one badly. Nothing available locally, I wanted or could afford, but a Milwaukee sabre-saw blade....not the same as a 360 rotating head sabre saw, but I got the project done. Keep the gear-box lubed and put fresh brushes as needed and motor end bearings every 3-5 years depending on if you use it 5/10-12 or as needed and you can hand it down to your grand-son running fine. Fine piece of equiptment."
