Kohler Replacement Engine,
January 21, 2008

"I bought an ESSICK vibrating roller at an auction. It had a very old/tall Wisconsin engine on it that was ready for the scrap yard, hence the reason for selling it at the auction. I did some research on the roller and stumbled on a place that sold parts for the obsolete machine. And on top of that I was speaking with the parts man that worked at ESSICK for many years prior to them going out of business. He was very friendly and told me that a Kohler 12 HP engine was a perfect replacement for the old Winsconsin engine and matched it in every spec for the precise RPMs and torque for the proper vibration. I looked everywhere for the Kohler and found only a few dealers but none that could match Northern Tools price; shipping and all. I found the Kohler 16 HP on sale and checked the specs. They were also a match, so I got a Horsepower upgrade and still matched engines for the proper replacement. I'm very happy with the outcome and not only recommend Kohler engines but Northern Tool for there help in supplying technical data. Turn to Northern Tool for any of your engine replacement jobs, no matter how unique they may be."
