"I purchased this engine to replace the worn-out engine on my log splitter. The mounting holes and shaft characteristics were as advertised and the engine was easily installed. The engine starts with one pull and runs great !! I would highly recommend this product."

"My first use for this model was to replace the engine on my tow behind yard vacuum system. I replaced a 4hp Koehler with this 5.5hp Briggs engine, what a nice difference. The next two time I used these engines were to replace two tired 5hp engines on mine and my father's logsplitters. Both bolted on and worked like a charm. Great price and value."

"The old engine on my wifes rototiller locked up & was dead. She had a lot to work up & needed the machine. Where did I go to replace this engine, of course Northern. Ordered a Briggs & Stratton replacment engine. Received it in 4 days, installed it in about an hour, filled it with oil, gas, turned it over by hand, and it started on the second pull. Took it to the lot, started working it & no flaws at all. The old boy works great, the new engine is just great. Wife is happy to. Would recommend this product & Northern Tool to anyone."

"Bought this engine for a home built belt driven generator. The ball bearing PTO appealed to me, as well as the Briggs reputation. This little engine runs great. Starts quite easily, sips fuel, and has plenty of power. It fit my needs with its adjustable speed allowing me to idle my generator for maximum fuel consumption on light loads yet speed it up with a heavy load. Can't be beat for the price. Northern tool had it on sale, and it was shipped quickly to me. I have bought from Northern in the past and will continue to do so. Great people to deal with"

"I purchased this engine for my wood splitter which is quite old. This purchase was a good move. The engine starts with one or two pulls, runs very quiet, idles down good and smoothly. It was well worth the money. I would recommend it to anybody."

"I ordered this Briggs & Stratton engine to replace the one on a wood splitter that my extended family and I have used for many years. It was delivered promptly, was exactly as described in the literature, and installed easily. It has worked beautifully this season in splitting over fifteen cord of stovewood. It still invariably starts on the second pull whether hot or cold. We could not be happier with the unit"

"This motor starts and runs really well. Its quiet. We are using it as a replacement motor on a Craftsman rear tine rototiller. The price and service at Northern is the best we have found on the market. We're coming back for more tools this month also."
