Nice motor,

"Needed to replace an old motor on an old woodsplitter, found this model in catalog. Was told it would arrive 4-5 day, only took 3.Put it on,fueled it up,fired up on second pull.Great running motor, plenty of power, always starts with no problem.Only thing I dislike about this motor is that the color of the dipstick is a golden yellow, same color as motor oil hard to tell oil level.NO problem if you use royal purple oil."

Smaller, stronger and an easy install,

"During a blowdown a tree fell on my woodsplitter destroying the old engine. I bought this engine to replace the ld one. I was a bit surprised to find that it was mcuh lighter and smaller than the older engine. Installation on the woodsplitter was very easy and the bolt pattern was universal and fit the mounting bracket perfectly. I was further surprised at the ease of starting. My old engine had many, many hours on it but it had always been difficult to start. This new overhead valve engine starter with very little effort. I am very pleased with this product."

"Many years ago i purchased this same alumimum cylinder engine for a log splitter. I was told it wouldn't last for one year. Its 30+ years later and its still running on the log splitter. We were splitting 50 to 100 cords a year with the briggs engine. I just built another larger log splitter and i'm going with the new overhaed valve 8hp engine. I'm sure this is the best that briggs has to offer quality and price wise. I been really happy with the performance of the briggs engines for many years and i'm sure it will continue.
The only thing i did was to change the oil every day after 8 hours of use and add a upper lube to the gas to keep the valves lubed on the older engine, maintenance is the key to these awesome engines lasting for many years.

Leaf blower replacement motor,

"I bought this for my leaf blower. Installation was simple, four bolts hold the engine to the base, one large hex bolt on the impeller. Runs great, easy to start and much better on gas than the old 8hp Briggs it replaced. I made the purchase on line and delivery from Northern was fast."

"I am very impressed with the preformance of this engine. I purchased it to be used on a log spliter I was puttings together. It had plensty of piwer and the speed that the ram traveled was wonderful.
I was also pleased with the controls on the engine [fuel shut off, choke, and throtle] all needed when the engine is idle for long pieods time. It starts very well.
I was also pleased with the price of the engine and also the speed that Northern had it delivered to me.
