Holding three 500 lb. barrels.
"I bought this to hold back items I sometimes carry in my dump truck. The width of the dump is 84" and this was the cargo/load bar that came the closest to it. The bar was still too long so I disassembled it and cut a few inches off the inside bar. It is a very solid piece and holds like a rock. I just wish the increments on the cranking mechanism were smaller because there isn't much give and take and you need the strength of a bear to affix and release it. The instructions don't say a thing how to operate it but refer you to their website (Vestil) which is equally non informative. I finally figured out that you move the top lever forward and crank it to affix it, and then moved the top lever to the rear to release it. I used it the other day to restrain three 55 gallon barrels of fuel oil weighing around 500 pounds apiece (see picture )over a long, bumpy trip and it didn't budge an inch. Please note that the barrel pump in the picture is a Northern Tool item, and the truck is stored in a Shelter Logic shelter lighted by two sets of string lights, both also great items I bought from Northern."
