Prince 3000 psi cylinder,
February 18, 2009

"I used this 5" cylinder to build a log splitter and it is great. I really don't think that I saved much by building it myself but I did design some features that I have never seen before on other splitters and I did get the satisfaction of building it myself. This is a very powerful cylinder and may be overkill for most jobs. The 1 1/2" thick base plate on the end of my horiz/vert splitter actually bent a little after splitting a very large knot. Thats with the working pressure set at about 2550 psi. If you want or need a powerful log splitter I don't think that there is a log around that can stand up to this cylinder."
